Richard "Ricky" Eugene Bridges June 12, 1957 December 5, 2016 Richard "Ricky" Eugene Bridges, 58, of Portland, Maine, left this world unexpectedly on Dec. 5th 2016. He had the love of his life and brother in law, Larry, holding his hand, and daughter Danielle close by his side and his mother, brother and sisters close to his heart. He was born in Portland, Maine, 1 of 12 children, to Lawrence Bud "Buddy" Bridges and Florence Shirley (Rickett) Bridges. Ricky was a graduate of Portland High School and took many vocational courses that helped him along the road to become a "Jack of all trades." He found what he was searching for in 2009, when he found the love of his life, keeper of his heart and married her, his happily ever after princess, Tammy Jean Fournier, in 2013. Ricky was quickly reaching a milestone in his life that he was very proud of. January marks one year of no 'papa's soda'. He was a giver by nature with a heart of gold. He had a passion for cooking and feeding the neighborhood, which his wife happily welcomed. He enjoyed sitting with his wife and looking out over the ocean at Old Orchard Beach, Pine Point, The Eastern Prom, and Ocean Front Gateway. Feeling at peace and knowing he was home. He truly loved making others smile by being his silly self. It brought such joy to his heart to see people laugh. He loved spoiling the nieces and nephews and making happy memories with them. He volunteered his time, energy, and heart to the Old Orchard Beach Food Pantry doing pick up and deliveries, helping at fund raising events, or anywhere they needed him, and he did it all with a smile. He took great pride in being able to give back to others. "Its not a hand out, it's a hand up." His smile will forever be in the hearts of many and so missed. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a sister, Cheryl. He is survived by: his wife, who together share, a blended family of 5 5 children, 6 6 grandchildren; his mother; 10 brothers and sisters; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifetime friends. Ricky will be cremated. There will be no viewing or services at this time. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. "I loved you like there was no tomorrow...and then one day there wasn't"
