Richard Paul Chamberlain November 20, 1960 November 14, 2013 Cape Elizabeth - Richard Paul Chamberlain, 52, of Cape Elizabeth passed away at his home on November 14, 2013. He was born on November 20, 1960 in Biddeford, the son of Paul and Rita (Pierce) Chamberlain. He grew up in Cape Elizabeth and graduated from Cape Elizabeth High School in 1979. After high school, Richard attended the University of Maine at Orono and joined the fraternity of his older brother Robert - Sigma Phi Epsilon. Richard transferred to and graduated from the University of Southern Maine earning a degree in history. He worked for many years in grocery store management for Hannaford Bros. Richard loved reading and movies, was a Civil War history buff and was a die-hard Patriots, Red Sox and Celtics fan. Richard also loved his friends and enjoyed spending time with them, many of them life-long friends. He was a one-of-a-kind friend and treasured having his many close friends in his life. Richard was predeceased by his mother and his brother, Robert. He is survived by his father, his son Joshua Chamberlain, his sister Marian Chamberlain and her children Susan Fasulo and Jennifer Fasulo Facey, his sister-in-law and Robert's wife Mary Chamberlain and her children Emily (Chamberlain) Goodman and Laura Chamberlain, his brother David Chamberlain and his wife Bridget and David's children Drew and Paige Chamberlain. He is also survived by his beloved cats, Elfie and Basha. Friends and family are invited to visiting hours on Friday, November 22, 2013 from 3 - 7 PM at A.T. Hutchins Funeral and Cremation Services, 660 Brighton Ave, Portland. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 11 AM. Casual tropical (Jimmy Buffett Parrott Head) attire is encouraged at the service. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Cape Elizabeth. A reception will follow the internment at the Lions Club Hall near the cemetery on Route 77.
