Obituary

Richard "Mouse" Allen 1939 July 14, 2012 Richard "Mouse" Allen, 73 of Portland, died peacefully at home on July 14, 2012. Richard graduated from Deering High School, class of 1958. He married Ethel P. "Tootie" (Shapleigh) on March 14, 1970. Richard was one of Deering's most distinguished athletes, in both baseball and basketball. He was also a champion candlepin bowler, bowling on television several times. Richard also enjoyed golfing, hunting and collecting baseball cards. Richard worked for Weyerhauser in Westbrook for over 25 years before beginning his retirement. Wherever people were having a good time, Mouse was the life of the party. Richard was predeceased by his loving wife of 22 years, Ethel, in 1992. He was also predeceased by his parents, Carroll and Josephine Allen and a sister, Pauline Parker. He is survived by his children, Anna Bolduc of Gorham, James DiPietro and Terry DiPietro, both of Westbrook. He is also survived by his grandchildren Michelle and Devlin Domini, Jessica DeRienzo, Alyssa DiPietro, Daniel Ridlon, Matthew Bolduc, Jamie DiPietro, Todd, Sherri and Kayla Tweedie and many great-grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 from 4 - 7pm at A.T. Hutchins, LLC Funeral and Cremation Services, 660 Brighton Avenue, Portland. Interment will be private.
