Polly D. Mahan August 30, 2014 Kennebunk - Our dearest mother and friend, Polly D. Mahan, passed away August 30th, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House. She had been struggling with various illnesses for the past few years and put up quite the fight right until the end. Polly was born in Oak Bluffs, Martha's Vineyard. She graduated from Martha's Vineyard Regional High School, and then went on to graduate from Catherine Gibbs Finishing School in Boston. That is where she met her husband William M. Mahan (predeceased) with whom she had two children, Marni Maynard and Sean Mahan. She was the long-time partner of Paul G. LaHaye who predeceased her September 2013. Her two children along with four loving grandchildren, Clover Maynard, Bailey Woodrow, Finn Mahan, and Maggie Mahan survive her. Polly will be remembered for her smile, laughter and ability to make friends anywhere she went. She will be missed very much. Her final resting place will be in the town she had called home for 20 years, Kennebunk, Maine at the Hope Cemetery. There will be a private family memorial.
