Phyllis J. Jimino, 90, of Portland passed away March 28, 2026, at Hospice of Southern Maine with her family by her side. Born on July 27, 1935, in Mexico, ME to Mary and Phillip LaCroix.

Phyllis moved to Allens Corner in Portland as a young child then to Anderson St. Phylis attended Portland Schools graduating from Portland High School class of 1953.

Phyllis met her future husband of 65 yrs Alphonso Jimino raising 4 children in a farmhouse on Riverside St while working at B&M Baked Beans. After their children reached adulthood, Phyllis and Alphonso relocated to Cousins Island, where Phylis was employed for ten years by the Yarmouth School Department.

In the mid-1990s, Alphonso and Phyllis relocated to their present residence on Stuart Street in Portland.

Phyllis is predeceased by her parents Mary and Phillip LaCroix, and 2 grandsons, Joesph Jimino and Jamie Jimino. She is survived by 4 children, Phillip of Sebec, David of Raymond, Michael (Mary Ann) of Portland, Bridget of Westbrook and her brother Douglass of Yarmouth; 9 grandchildren, Sherry, Phillip, Jennifer, Nicolas, Robert, Nicole, Christina, Stephine and Melissa, along with 15 great grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday April 9, 2026, at 11am at St. Pius Catholic Church, 492 Ocean Avenue Portland, ME. Burial will follow at New Calvary Cemetery, 1461 Broadway in South Portland, ME.
