Paul Richard Rodney August 10, 1943 March 30, 2016 Portland, Me. - Paul Richard Rodney, 72, of Portland passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Maine Medical Center after a brief illness. Paul was born August 10, 1943 in Portland, the son of the late Joseph W. and Rose (Tucci) Rodney. He was raised on Munjoy Hill and lived there his entire life. He also attended Portland schools. Paul worked many years for A.L. Doria as a stone mason and bricklayer. He later formed his own masonry business with his brother, Bobby. Prior to retiring, he branched out on his own to continue his trade. He married the love of his life, Dorothy Elliott, on July 06, 1963, and had three children. Paul enjoyed playing his guitar, singing with family, attending the grandchildren's sporting events, and having family gatherings. He was an avid fan of the New York Giants and the New York Yankees. The most important part of Paul's life were his wife, children, family, friends and neighbors. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dorothy (Elliott) Rodney of Portland and his three daughters; Pauline Merrill and her husband Gary, Robin Ferrar and her husband Jim, and Maria Rodney and her fiance Daniel, as well as four grandchildren, Gary, Shaun, Abby, and James. ~He is also survived by his brothers Robert and his wife Anne, Andrew and his wife Trudy, George and his wife Pat, Raymond and his wife Nancy, John and his wife Dawn; sisters Lenore Punsky, Mary Dvilensky and her husband Norman, Beatrice Panagakos, Katherine Seeley and her husband Edwin, Elizabeth Pottle and her husband John. ~In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Rose Ann Hunnewell and brothers, Thomas and Joseph Rodney. Friends and family are invited to visiting hours from 11am - 1 pm on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at A.T. Hutchins Funeral & Cremation Services, 660 Brighton Ave, Portland. A Funeral Service will follow in the chapel at 1pm. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, 1461 Broadway, South Portland.
