Patricia Gene Thorne January 2, 1926 March 15, 2012 Falmouth- Patricia Gene Thorne of Oakland Rd, Falmouth died Thursday March 15, 2012 at St. Joseph's Manor. She was born in Adah, Pennsylvania on January 2, 1926. She was the ninth child of eleven of Michael and Anna (Petcheny) Heffern. After attending area schools, she came to Maine to live with her brother Joseph and his family, when he was transferred by the Navy to South Portland after WW II. Here she met and married Stanley Thorne in September of 1947. They made their home in Portland and were married for 59 years until Stanley's passing in 2006. Patricia retired from Hannaford Brothers in 1988. She enjoyed baking and knitting for her family and was always up for a game of bingo. She was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, she never missed watching a televised game. Even in a losing season, she was always ""looking forward to next year."" She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Annette and Everett Gould Jr. of Falmouth and two grandsons, Everett Gould III of Portland and Jeremiah Gould and his wife Elise of Westbrook, along with two great grandchildren, Jeremiah, Jr. and Cara. She is also survived by a sister Doris Cole of Sheffield Lake, OH and a brother Charles Heffern of Seven Hills, OH and many nieces and nephews. Patricia's family would like to thank the staff of St. Joseph's Residence for the care and kindness given to Patricia during her stay. In honoring her wishes, interment will be private.
