On August 6, 2022, Patricia McLean Giddings, age 82, passed away after a long battle with multiple health issues.  She is survived by her son James Young, wife Jean-Marie Young and 3 grandchildren, Michael, Elisabeth, and Molly. Patricia was born in Great Barrington Massachusetts and is predeceased by her parents Orval Giddings and Mary Elisabeth Salter, and grandmother Lucia Garfield.  Patricia moved to Gorham, Maine at an early age.  Soon after that she found one of her true talents - opera singing.  She quickly got recognized as a childhood prodigy and performed all around the Portland area.  After graduating high school, she moved to Rochester New York and attended Eastman School of Music.  She then moved to New York City to pursue a singing career. After having her son James, she moved back to Maine where she attended USM and earned a Bachelor's degree in social work.   She worked most of her career for the City of Portland Social Services department.  She enjoyed helping the homeless population and volunteering at local cat shelters. The funeral will be a private ceremony for the immediate family.
