Oscar C. Tabb November 25, 1922 September 16, 2013 Scarborough - Oscar C. Tabb, 90, of Westbrook passed away on September 16, 2013 at the Maine Veterans' Home in Scarborough. He was born on November 25, 1922 in Caldwell Co., Kentucky, the son of Lester and Nora (Stevens) Tabb. Oscar enlisted in the United States Army at Fort Knox and was later stationed at Fort Williams in Maine, where he met his wife Jane (Aceto), with whom he was married for 69 years prior to her passing in 2010. Oscar served during World War II in North Africa, Italy, France and Germany. After the war, Oscar returned home and worked for 45 years for the Thomas Laughlin division of American Hoist and Derrick. Oscar was an avid bluegrass guitar player and was a member of the Bluegrass Association. Oscar had a deep love for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He faithfully attended the Windham Plains Baptist Church until he was physically no longer able to go. Oscar especially loved spending time with his family; going to the ocean, eating out, playing guitar with his daughter and being with his many, many grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren. Oscar was predeceased by his parents, his wife Jane and his four brothers. He is survived by his daughters, Vickie Courtois and her husband Jerry, Joanne Morgan and her husband Byron, Donna Hawkes and her husband Steve, Christine Tabb and Deborah Frank and her husband Steve, as well as his many, many grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at the Scarborough Maine Veterans' Home for their care and support. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2013 from 4 - 7pm at A.T. Hutchins Funeral & Cremation Services, 660 Brighton Ave, Portland. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 20 at 10am at the Westbrook First Baptist Church, 733 Main St Westbrook. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Calvary Cemetery, South Portland.
