Norma M. Grimstad, 78, died at a long-term care facility in Falmouth, ME on April 26, 2024. Norma was born on July 15th, 1945, in Somerville, Massachusetts, to her loving parents Hjalmar N. Grimstad and Margaret Gwendolyn Downing. Prior to living in Maine, Norma resided in Massachusetts for over seventy years. Norma graduated from Somerville High School in 1963 and earned a bachelor's degree in Sociology and literature from Northeastern University in 1974. From the late 1960s to 2007, Norma worked for the federal government. She began as a secretary and ended her career as a top administrator in the Health Care Finances Department. Norma loved animals (especially cats), fashion, movies, music, books, and baking. She had a sharp wit, a gentle approach, and a keen eye for detail. In addition to her parents, Norma is predeceased by her beloved siblings, her sister Judith A. Taylor, and her brother John A. Grimstad. She is survived by her three nieces, Carolyn I. Taylor of Stoneham, Massachusetts, Janet M. Taylor of Windham, ME, and Jennifer A. Taylor of Gorham, ME. She also leaves her grandniece Natalie, and her grandnephews Zachary and Gavin.
