Nancy R. Anton February 24, 1949 January 24, 2012 Portland- Nancy R. Anton, 62, of Walton Street, died on January 24, 2012 in Portland. She was born on February 24, 1949, in Newport VT, a daughter of Dr George T and Margaret Mary (O'Neil) Anton. She was educated in Portland schools and at Manhattanville College. She worked at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center for 30 years, taking early retirement and moving back to Portland in 2002. She delighted in watching her nephews, Max and Dan, grow up to be fine young men, and was very proud of their accomplishments, their kind and generous natures, their intelligence and their spunk. In keeping with her wishes, which will surprise none who knew her, no service is planned, other than a private family memorial. In lieu of flowers or memorials, a contribution to the charity of your choice would be considered by her survivors -- sister Leslie, brother-in-law Bob, and nephews Max and Dan -- an extension of her memory. Better yet, just do something wonderful for a child. And do this: Tell the ones you care for that you love them. Tell them with your voice or a note or a touch, but tell them. Tell them every day.
