Muriel Jeanette Guay    September 6, 1929 - January 14, 2012 Muriel Jeanette Guay, 91, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2021 at the Barron Center in Portland. She was born September 6, 1929, on Long Island, Maine, a daughter of George and Alice (Woodbury) Thompson. She grew up in Portland and graduated from Deering High School. She married her husband Eugene Guay, October 29, 1955 and they moved to Maywood, CA where she worked as a nursery schoolteacher for many years before returning to Maine where she was employed and retired from Portland City Hall as a secretary. She was predeceased by her husband Eugene Guay, her parents and sister, Alicia Hanestad. Muriel enjoyed seeing pictures and hearing stories about her great-great-nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed watching crime stories on TV and spending time with her family. At her request there will be no services. The family is grateful for the loving care given to Muriel by the Barron Center staff over the past several years.   She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
