Bocal, 80 SCARBOROUGH - Michel Philippe Bocal, 80, of Scarborough died peacefully Sunday evening, May 15, 2016 at home in the loving care of his partner of 40 years, Nu Carpenter, and their daughter, Elisabelle Bocal, after enduring a long battle with Alzheimer's disease and dementia. Michel was born on October 2, 1935 in Chợ Lớn, Vietnam to Tran Trung Truc (Thomas Bocal) and Nguyen Thi Cong Lai (Marguerite Rose). Michel is survived by his partner, Nu, and their daughter, Elisabelle of Scarborough. Friends and family are invited to visiting hours from 2 to 5pm on Sunday afternoon, May 22, 2016 at A.T. Hutchins Funeral Services, 660 Brighton Ave., Portland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM, Monday, May 23, 2016, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 307 Congress St., Portland. Cremation will follow at a later date. The family also wishes to invite friends to a celebration of life at Noon, following Mass, Monday, May 23, 2016, at the Woodfords Club, 179 Woodford St., Portland. After the celebration, Michel's ashes will be returned home to Vietnam. The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to those who have offered such kindness, support and messages of sympathy and comfort during Michel's illness.
