Mary Rose (Sesto) Ferrucci March 26, 1923 March 22, 2015 Portland - Mary Rose (Sesto) Ferrucci, 91, of Portland, passed away on March 22, 2015 at Mercy Hospital. She was born on March 26, 1923 in Biddeford, a daughter of Thomas and Maria (Poli) Sesto. She grew up in Portland, graduating from Portland High School in 1941. She married Santino Ferrucci in 1947 and together they raised two children. Mary worked many jobs throughout her life. Her career started as a bookkeeper for Speirs. She held various retail positions and ended her working years at the age of 80 with the City of Portland School system. She was a member of St. Peter's Sodality and the Daughters of Isabella. Mary's work also extended to a lifelong commitment to volunteerism. She contributed many hours to her children's schools groups, to St. Peter's Church Annual Bazaar and fundraisers, to visiting shut-ins, and ushering at the Portland Symphony. Mary enjoyed knitting, crocheting, dancing, and loved being social. Her biggest treasure, however, was her family. She was a true family person. She enjoyed cooking Sunday meals for family and friends. Some of her best memories were of spending summers with her extended family at Higgins Beach. Everyone was welcome. Mary was predeceased by her parents, her husband Santino in 1984, and her brothers; Pat, Tony, and Frank. She is survived by her children; Thomas Ferrucci and Mary Ann Foley and husband Paul. She is also survived by her siblings; Rev. Gennaro Sesto, Lucy Burke, Thomas Sesto and wife Angie, Ann Gribbin and husband Peter, Ginny LaCroix and her husband Doug, and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends and family are invited to visiting hours on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 from 3 - 7pm at A.T. Hutchins Funeral and Cremation Services, 660 Brighton Ave, Portland. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Thursday, March 26 at 9 am, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 am at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 72 Federal St. Portland.
