Mary C. O'Rourke July 6, 1941 September 21, 2012 SCARBOROUGH - Mary C. O'Rourke, 71, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 21, 2012 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House after a courageous battle with cancer. Mary was born in Portland, Maine on July 6, 1941, the daughter of Gerald M. and Mary M. (Connolly) O'Rourke. Mary was a graduate of St. Joseph's Academy and SMVTI with a degree in nursing. Mary dedicated her life to helping others, both in her personal and professional life. Her home was always open to share a cup of tea and friendly conversation. Mary was a wonderful, caring mother and grandmother. She especially treasured spending time with her grandson Daniel. Mary was predeceased by her father, mother and brothers, Fr. Gerald D. O'Rourke and John P. O'Rourke. She is survived by her daughter, Anne-Marie O'Rourke, and grandson, Daniel Landry, both of Peaks Island, and a very special cousin, Joanne Leo, of Portland. At Mary's request, there will be no funeral services. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Mary's life on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 12:00pm at Bruno's Restaurant, 33 Allen Avenue, Portland.
