Mary D. Napolitano January 22, 1934 August 4, 2016 Portland - Mary D Napolitano, 82, died on August 4, 2016 at home. She was born on January 22, 1934 in Portland, the daughter of Patrick and Delia (Folan) Flaherty. Mary attended Portland schools and graduated from Portland High School. On November 26, 1960 she married Joseph (Buddy) Napolitano, and together they raised their 3 children (Patricia, Peter, Joseph). Mary retired from Shaw's Supermarkets in 1996. After retirement Mary enjoyed reading, traveling with her husband, playing games of chance and attending her grandson Jack's sporting events. She was also an avid fan of the Patriots. Mary is survived by her daughter Patricia Napolitano; her son Joseph Napolitano; Her grandson Jack Napolitano; 2 sisters Brigid Murphy, and Anne Gwinn; a brother Patrick Flaherty; and several nieces and nephews, as well as many of her children's friends who considered her a 2nd mom. She was predeceased by her parents; Buddy her husband of 55 years; her son Peter and 3 brothers Tom, John, and Bartley Flaherty. Friends and family are invited to visiting hours from 4-7pm on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at A.T. Hutchins Funeral & Cremation Services, 660 Brighton Ave, Portland. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Wednesday August 10 at 9am, followed by a memorial mass at 10am at St Peter's Catholic Church, 72 Federal St, Portland.
