Mary A. McLaughlin's Obituary Mary Agnes McLaughlin, 78, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family in Portland, April 21, 2025. She was born in Portland, November 18, 1946, the daughter of Gerald and Winifred (O'Donnell) McLaughlin. Mary grew up in Portland and was an amazing woman who is loved, and is missed tremendously. Mary was an amazing mother, wife, sister, grandmother, and friend. Mary would like you to know she will always be there watching over you, especially with every hummingbird and lilac tree you see. Mary spent most of her adulthood working as a registered nurse at Mercy Hospital in Portland, Maine before she transferred over to New England Rehabilitation Hospital of Portland, where she then spent the rest of her career before she retired. Her goal was to help and care for others like they were her own family. When she wasn't working she was spending time with her family, reading a book on her porch swing with a cup of tea, and attending mass every Sunday. Mary was predeceased and will be reunited by her father and mother, Gerald and Winifred McLaughlin, her brother David McLaughlin, and her husband Warren Huntington. She is survived by her brother, Michael McLaughlin of McLean, Virginia; daughter, Ann Plummer and husband Ronald of Portland; sons, David Huntington and wife Nicole of Fort Knox, Kentucky, Joseph Huntington of Westbrook, and Sean Huntington of Rockport. Grandchildren Michael, Ariana, Joseph, Kassidy, Sean, Sophia, Julia, and Aubrie. We invite you to join us and celebrate together. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, April 26, 2025, at, St. Pius X Church, 492 Ocean Ave, Portland, ME 04102, followed by interment at the New Calvary Cemetery of the Diocese of Portland.
