Marjorie Anne (Clarke) DiMillo November 3, 1934 January 18, 2015 Portland - Marjorie Anne (Clarke) DiMillo, born November 3, 1934 in Portland, a daughter of James H. and Marion (Stilphen) Clarke, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family and friends after a brief illness on January 18, 2015. She grew up on Munjoy Hill and was very proud to be a ""Hill"" girl from Merrill Street. She was a graduate of Portland High School and SMCC with an LPN Degree. She worked at Maine Medical Center for many years, retiring in 1997. She continued to work for many years as a private duty nurse. She was a foster grandparent at Nathan Clifford and Ocean Avenue Elementary School until her recent illness. Marjorie was a voracious reader. She loved crossword puzzles, card games and Jeopardy. She also loved to cook for her family and friends. She was a life-long wist card player, playing with her family and friends on a weekly basis. Marjorie had a quick wit and a good sense of humor. She loved to spend time with her family and friends. She often traveled with her husband to see her daughter in Europe, Pacific Northwest and North California. She loved going to Florida to visit friends and cousins and taking trips to Foxwoods, Las Vegas and Oxford Casino. Marjorie's grandchildren were very important to her. She enjoyed spending time with them and keeping up with their interests and sports activities. They will miss her dearly. Marjorie was predeceased by her parents, her sisters; Gertrude Foley and Nina Gilbert, her brothers; James Clarke, George Parmenter and Russell Parmenter. She is survived by her husband of 55 years Rudolph DiMillo, their four children, Annemarie (Steve) Conroy of Milford, New Hampshire, Janet DiMillo, Rudolph (Annemarie) DiMillo and James (Charity) DiMillo. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren; Erin, Meghan and Daniel Conroy, Maria (David) DiMillo-May, Laura and Rudy DiMillo, Dominic, Isabelle and Sophia DiMillo as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews, and a sister, Ellen Shaw. The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of Southern Maine for their care of Marjorie during her illness. Friends and family are invited to visiting hours from 10 am - 12 pm, followed by a memorial service at 12pm on Friday, January 23, 2015 at A.T. Hutchins Funeral and Cremation Services, 660 Brighton Ave, Portland.
