Marion L. Golden March 9, 1949 April 3, 2016 Westbrook Marion L. Golden died at her home on Sunday, April 3, 2016 after a long period of failing health. She was 67 and lived most of her life in Portland where she attended Deering High and USM and worked for many years at the Maine Department of Health and Human Services. She was a talented artist, voracious reader, astute observer, witty commentator, intelligent and compassionate worker, devoted daughter, best little sister, craziest aunt, fine friend, and kind companion and caregiver to many cats. She wrote a great letter, cooked a good meal, sang a lilting song, loved a joke, dressed with style, and leaves us to carry on with our memories. She was the youngest daughter of the late Richard M. and Emily M. Golden. She is survived by her sister, Emily Morris (husband Merrill Morris), sister Marguerite (Meg) Merrill, nephew, Seth Burch (wife Laura Ringelheim), niece Julia Tebbets (wife Lori Yost), grandnephew Jack Burch, grandniece Lily Burch,aunt, cousins and her two cats, Leroy and Lucy. At Marion's request there will be no services. She would have wanted you to remember her in your own way. Should you wish to make a memorial donation, Marion herself supported the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland, the Good Shepherd Food Bank and the Salvation Army.
