Margaret Perrson Kroot passed away January 29, 2017 at Mercy Hospital.  She was born January 12, 1927 in Portland to John and Margaret (Young) Perrson. Margaret graduated from Portland High School.  She worked in the food industry and as an Administrative Assistant at Northeastern Graphic Supply.  She loved animals and had many pets. Margaret was preceded in death by:  her parents; sons, Brian Kroot and John Kroot; and brother, John Perrson.  She is survived by her partner, J. Kenneth Higgins and three grandchildren, Jason Kroot, Travis Kroot, and Alexis Kroot. Donations may be made in Margaret's name to the Animal Refuge League, 217 Westbrook St., Westbrook, ME 04092. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
