In Loving Memory of Margie Cournoyer
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Cournoyer, who passed away peacefully on August 3, 2026 at the age of 87.
Born on December 26, 1938 in New York, NY Margie lived a life filled with love, kindness, and devotion to her family and friends. She was a loving wife to Kenneth Cournoyer, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth and generosity touched everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her children Donna Ryan and husband Thomas, Lisa Zahn and husband Joseph, Kenny Cournoyer, Patricia Reilly, Chrissy Reilly, James Reilly, Lynn Reilly, her grandchildren Jessica Ryan, Olivia Ryan, Madeline Ryan her sibling Joseph Restivo, nephew Justin Caban, cousin Judith DiVilio, extended family members, dear friends, fur grandbabies Cherie and Carlie.
Margie found joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren, fur grandbabies (whom she adored), friends at Ashton Gardens, cooking for everyone, and of course shopping. She will be remembered for her love of family, her generosity, her compassion for animals and so much more. She will be thought of lovingly for the countless ways she made others feel loved and supported. If Margie said "I love you", it came from the deepest part of heart.
Her family will forever cherish the memories they hold in their hearts. Though she will be deeply missed, her love will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 14, 2026, at A.T. Hutchins Funeral Home, 660 Brighton Avenue, Portland ME. Family and friends are welcome to attend and celebrate her life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Animal Refuge League in her memory, if desired.
She will be forever loved, forever remembered, and forever missed.
