Lynette Lois Seekins Cameron August 4, 1959 December 23, 2011 Cumberland Center - Lynette Lois Seekins Cameron, 52 accepted her ""angel wings"" on December 23, 2011 in the peace of her home in Cumberland Center surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 4, 1959 in Portland, Lynette was the daughter of Raymond and Norma Farwell Seekins, who also live in Cumberland. She attended local schools, graduating from Greely High School in 1977. She received her degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Maine, Orono in 1981. Lynette was a devoted and talented teacher for twenty-five years, from 1983 to 2008 at MSAD #15 in Gray/New Gloucester. During that time she nurtured the development of many young lives. Lynette married Bruce Cameron in 1990. She was the proud mother of two sons, Alexander and Ian of Cumberland, whose activities she supported with enthusiasm. She was a sister to Dr. Ronald L. Seekins and his wife Anna of Windham; Donna R. McMannus of Harwinton, CT; Dennis Seekins and his wife, Beth of Norton, MA; and Nancy Dexter of North Yarmouth. She is also survived by her husband's family on Grand Manan, New Brunswick, Canada, including Mother-in-law, Elizabeth Cameron; sister-in-law, Chris Cameron; and brother-in-law, Bob Cameron. She was the much-loved ""Auntie Net"" to her nieces and nephews: Jeff and Kari Seekins; Craig, Kevin and Allison McMannus; Gregory, Christopher and Sydney Seekins; Kate Loveitt Fontaine and Andrew Loveitt; Julie Borst, Jenny Lynn Ingersoll, and Kelly Cook. In addition to her family, Lynette is remembered with great affection by a multitude of friends, from school years to Pilgrim Lodge to the Congregational Church in Cumberland where she was a beloved Deacon, confirmation mentor, teacher, youth worker, Women's Retreat planner, and wedding coordinator. A source of inspiration to family and friends for her strength, courage and positive attitude, Lynette ""lived well with cancer"" for the past 12 years. As son, Ian wrote, ""my Mom put everyone before herself and her soul will forever watch over our family and friends until it's our time to join her in God's kingdom."" Lynette's family wishes to thank all of her friends, health care providers, spiritual healers, and church community who have shared her life's journey. She felt ""truly blessed.""
