Obituary

Obituary for Lynda A. Fisher Lynda Ann (Brow) Fisher, 93, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025 in Gorham, Maine. Lynda was born in Providence, Rhode Island on May 25, 1932, daughter of Lynward H. and Dorothy (Wheeler) Brow. Her family later moved to Portland where she graduated from Deering High School in 1950. She attended Westbrook Junior College, earning an Associate's Degree in business. She was employed at New England Telephone in Portland for two years until marrying. Lynda married John S. Fisher of Wichita, Kansas in 1957. They lived in Andover, Massachusetts and Allentown, Pennsylvania while raising four children, later retiring to Sebago Lake, in Standish, Maine. They were married 63 years. Her interests included embroidery, knitting, calligraphy, and cats - both acquired and rescued. Volunteer pursuits included a ladies' charitable organization at Asbury United Methodist Church in Allentown, PA, elementary school library aid in Allentown, office coverage at Lawrence General Hospital in Lawrence, MA, and Spaulding Memorial Library, Sebago, ME, where she served as Board Secretary for several terms. Most of all, she enjoyed being with her extended family - parents, siblings, nieces and nephews – who lived all around the US and abroad. She also enjoyed visits with the many friends made throughout her life. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husbands, Robert C. Hervey (d. 1955), John S. Fisher (d. 2020); her beloved sisters and brother, Barbara Fletcher, Lois Finney, Edward Brow, Phyllis Olsen, Jeanette Dutcher, Constance Day, and Marcia Brow. Lynda is survived by her sister Dorothy Lion; her four children, Robert, Christopher and his wife Cynthia, Paul, Andrea and her husband Jonathan; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Her most recent years were spent at The Gorham House in the care of many highly skilled and loving providers. The family is truly appreciative of the expert care they provided, as well as that of the hospice staff from Compassus.
