Obituary

Lucia Albano October 31, 2016 November 13, 2016 Lucy (Quattrucci) Albano, 92 PORTLAND, Lucy (Quattrucci) Albano, 92, passed away peacefully Sunday, Nov. 13, She was born in Portland on October 31, 1924 and grew up on Middle Street in ""Little Italy"", the daughter of Italian immigrant Gaetano Quattrucci and his wife Asunta Paolino born in New York. While working at Cushman's Bakery she met her husband Anthony Albano and together they raised their son Frank Albano. She enjoyed singing show tunes and dancing the Jitterbug and was a loving mother and affectionately called nana by her many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was a proud homemaker, cooking her signature Italian dishes and much praised Italian cookies and lovingly entertaining her numerous guests and family in her kitchen. She would always tirelessly serve her guests first and lastly herself and you rarely left the table without being stuffed full. After her husband Tony passed away she worked for over 20 years as a cook for St. Peter's Rectory just up the street from where she lived often walking to work through cold and snow into her early 80's. She would occasionally bake large platters of her delicious Italian cookies for people that requested them for events. Later in life she loved taking frequent rides with her grandson around town and to Old Orchard Beach, where she always raved about the Fried Clams and where her husband Tony had played his trumpet in his younger days. What she lacked in outward riches was made up for with a richness of heart and undying love for her family. She was always a strong and resilient woman, whom through much hardship in life, always bravely prevailed. She will be much missed by all of her family. She is predeceased by her husband Anthony Albano and her son Frank, her brothers Frankie and Michael Quattrucci, and her sister Janette Galli. She is survived by a sister Marie and her husband Scotty Napolitano, brothers Johnny Quattrucci and his wife Ethel, Raymond Quattrucci and his wife Marie, Bernard Quattrucci and his wife Marie, Guy Quattrucci and his wife Patti, 3 grandchildren, Brian Albano, Michael Albano and his wife Emily, Stephanie Napolitano and her husband Joseph and 7 great grandchildren, Joseph, Alyssa, Isabella, Mia, Sofia, Eva and Vito.
