Lisa A Higgins, 68 of Falmouth, died on October 7, 2026 after battling dementia. She passed at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough. She was born on November 30, 1957 in Portland, the only daughter of David R Higgins, Jr. and Marilyn (Petru) Higgins. She was a clinical social worker until she became ill. Tending to her flowers and being a dog owner brought her much joy. Survivors include her mother, Marilyn; a son, Joshua Leyden, his wife, Jennifer; a daughter, Lacey Leyden; seven grandchildren; two brothers, David Higgins, III and his wife Linda, and Peter Higgins of Cumberland and many nieces and nephews. The family thanks the staff at Maine Medical Center as well as the staff at Gosnell for the excellent care Lisa received.

At Lisa’s request, there will be no visiting hours and interment will be a private, family ceremony.
