Obituary

Linda Jeanne (Dorsey) Everest, age 77, of Old Orchard Beach, passed away on July 4, 2022. She was born in Portland ME in 1945, the eldest child of Stephen and Margaret (Grant) Dorsey.  She graduated Deering High School in 1964, and married her high school sweetheart, Teddy Everest at St. Patrick's Church in Portland. She supported their young family through moves to Memphis TN, Chicago IL, Houston TX, Suffern NY, and Hopkinton MA.  In Hopkinton she achieved a Certified Nursing Assistants certificate where she used her skills of raising a family to help elderly that could not help themselves and loved doing it.  Linda had a daring spirit, loved blingy rhinestone fashions, and creating cherished evenings with close friends and family with Sunday homemade spaghetti or lobster dinners.  She made the best fried haddock of all time and wouldn't think twice of shaving her hair in solidarity with a friend.  Linda had a tattoo on every limb, to Teddy's distress.  Her favorite spot was Pine Point Beach, and you might catch her driving to Marshall's in her BCHBUM convertible with a left foot out the open window. Linda always enjoyed her evenings at Dunegrass Country Club and never met a chardonnay she didn't love, except for the house chardonnay. Linda is preceded in death by her brother, Stephen and infant daughter Kimberly. She is survived by the love of her life, her husband Ted Everest of Old Orchard Beach; her three beloved children, David (and Deena) of Houston, TX; Stephanie (and Rusty) Batey of Houston, TX, Lisa Everest (and Tony Donovan) of Old Orchard Beach, ME; her nine grandchildren; her great grandson; and her three sisters: Patty Montgomery of Las Vegas, NV; Debbie Dorsey of Portland, and Terry (and Phillip) Alden of Hallowell.   Memorial Service will be held at 2:00PM with a reception to follow on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at the Dunegrass Country Club, 200 Wild Dunes Way, Old Orchard Beach. A second Memorial Service will be held in Houston this fall. Donations in Linda's memory may be made to Hospice of Southern Maine at 390 US Route One, Scarborough, ME 04074, or given online at www.hospiceofsouthernmaine.org/give.
