Lillian (Campbell) Buckley November 18, 1918 September 15, 2012 Lillian (Campbell) Buckley, 93, of South Portland, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 15th, 2012 at Springbrook Center in Westbrook with her daughters by her side. Lillian was born in Portland on November 18th, 1918, a daughter of Harold and Vergie (Johnson) Campbell. She graduated in 1936 from South Portland High School. She married John Joseph Buckley of Portland on March 3, 1944 in Beaver Falls, PA. Lillian had been active in Girl Scouts, Holy Cross Sodality and had worked many years for Minott's Flowers. She was a passionate gardener and passed her love and knowledge of flowers and plants to her daughters. She dearly loved being outdoors or reading. She was a professional seamstress and made most of her daughters' clothes including wedding and bridesmaid dresses. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, John and daughters, Peggy Buckley of Gorham; Jan Ashton and husband Neil of Brewer, and Kathy Cote and husband Roland of Readfield. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Theresa Boynton, husband Barney and children Scott and Sydney of Gray, Michelle Brzoza, husband Joe and children David and Genevieve of Essex Junction, Vermont, Joe Crowell and wife Mary of Stamford, Ct. and John Crowell of Hermon, brother, Bert Campbell of Manchester and sister-in-law, Frances Campbell of Portland. Lillian was predeceased by her parents, brother, Jack Campbell and sister-in-law, Doris Campbell. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Holy Cross Church in South Portland. A Committal service will be held immediately after at Brooklawn Memorial Park and a reception following at A.T. Hutchins, LLC, 660 Brighton Avenue, Portland.
