Lee M. Hanson 1928 ~ 2015 Cape Elizabeth Lee M. Hanson, 87, of Cape Elizabeth died on October 7, 2015 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough following a long and courageous battle with cancer. As a young lady, she met William H. Hanson and together they married in the mid 1940's. Together they traveled to Europe several times following her husband's military career in the Army. They moved back to the states permanently in 1958. She retired after many years in retail. During her retirement, she enjoyed bowling, square dancing, cooking and spending time with family. She was a member of the Eagles and the German Club. She enjoyed wintering in Hawaii and Florida for many years. She was married to William H. Hanson who died in 1983. Family members include her children, Patricia Cole, Lee Ingalls, Reed W. Hanson, and Joyce Charrier, 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 1 brother, Kurt Bittmann and wife, Gerta and 3 nephews. Services will be private by the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Hospice of Southern Maine, 180 U.S. Route 1, Scarborough, ME 04074.
