Obituary

Larry W. Reynolds January 9, 1950 June 20, 2016 Larry W. Reynolds, 66, a long time resident of Gorham, died unexpectedly on Monday, June 20, 2016 from what his family believes was a broken heart. He survived without the love of his life, his beloved wife, Karen Morse Reynolds, for only a year and a half after her passing and spoke about returning to her daily. Larry was born January 9, 1950 to the late Virginia and Floyd Reynolds. He grew up in Portland and attended Portland schools. He is survived by his siblings Craig, Floyd Jr., Jimmy, Peggy, Cathy, Debra and Brenda. He is also survived by his children Tammy Reynolds, Laurie Reynolds, Scott Rideout, Bruce Rideout, Leland Mason and was predeceased by his son, Michael Rideout. He leaves behind his large extended family including cherished grandchildren Misty, Mark Jr., Tammy, Bruce Jr., Destiny, Larry, Larissa, and Joey. His grandson Frankie also predeceased him. He has left behind fourteen great grandchildren, whom he loved and adored. Also surviving are many sisters in law and brothers in law. Larry was retired from the Gorham School Department where he was employed as a bus driver. He was a diehard Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. He enjoyed the music of Elvis Presley and loved being compared to him in his younger days. While he spent a lot of time tinkering and repairing things for many people, he also loved a good day at the horse races betting on his favorites. He was a fun loving grandfather and enjoyed making special memories with his grandchildren; once driving them on a VIP charter bus to Boston for an adventurous day! While his passing has left a large hole in the hearts of all of his family, we all take great comfort in knowing that he and Karen are healthy, whole and dancing together in heaven. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Larry's memory to a charity close to your heart.
