Kevin Lewis Smith, 55, passed away unexpectedly on February 21, 2022, at his home in Portland. He was born in Bangor, Maine on October 18, 1966, the son of Lewis and Beverly (Reid) Smith of Hampden. Kevin graduated from Hampden Academy in 1985 and, not long after, joined Bangor Wholesale Laminates. He was a dedicated employee and worked at the company for 35 years, first in Bangor, and later in Portland. A lifelong, faithful Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan, Kevin enjoyed sports, music, exploring maps, and attending concerts with friends. Kevin was a good man who cared deeply about his friends, looking out for them as best he could. He will live forever in our hearts. Kevin was predeceased by his father, Lewis, and his mother, Beverly. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Robin and Arthur McGlauflin of Mount Vernon, a niece, two nephews, and several extended family members. Kevin is further survived by his close friends, Tom Pinkerton of Bucksport, Dan Calderwood of North Haven, Rebekah Kirsanov of Westbrook, Raymond Chesley of Scarborough, and Kristin Huntley of Westbrook. There will be no formal service.
