Obituary

Portland – Kenneth W. Talbot, 92, died peacefully on Monday, December 22, 2025.

Kenny was born on March 23, 1933, in Gorham, the son of Charles H. and Thelma E. (Adams) Talbot, and one of nine children.

He proudly served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1954, attaining the rank of Corporal during the Korean War.

Kenny met the love of his life, Theresa (Gildred), and they were married in November 1958. Together they raised their three children in Portland and shared 63 wonderful years of marriage until Theresa’s passing in March 2021.

He was affectionately known as Grampy, Grampy T, and Pops.

Kenny worked for many years with the Crosby Group until the steel manufacturer closed in the 1980s. He then worked alongside his brothers at Portland Clutch until his retirement in 1998.

In retirement, Kenny enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards, cookouts, and taking many family trips to Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods Casino.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Theresa; his brothers William, Philip, James, Lloyd, and Ted; and his sisters Elaine and Lorraine.

He is survived by his daughters Laurie Butts and her husband Harold of Portland, Lisa Talbot of Portland, and his son Scott Talbot of Portland; his brother Gary Talbot and his wife Donna of South Portland; grandchildren Nikki Rollins and her husband Luke of New Limerick, Brian and his partner (Shelly) Butts of Scarborough, and Kristen Butts and her partner George Grabler of Gorham; and great-grandchildren Ethan Rollins of New Limerick, and Liam and Logan Grabler of Gorham.

He will be greatly missed by his best friend and loyal companion, his dog Koah.

A heart of gold stopped beating, Hard-working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.

A graveside service will be held in late spring at Evergreen Cemetery in Portland.
