Keith Alan McKeen March 30, 1943 April 5, 2016 On April 5, 2016, Keith Alan Mckeen, left this world, surrounded by family. He is survived by wife Judy McKeen, daughters Nikki Hight, Jill Marsanskis and Stephanie Parent, son-in-laws Mitch Spaulding, Mike Marsanskis and Joe Parent, five grandchildren, Chloe Hight, Sophie Hight, Luke Marsanskis, Olivia Marsanskis and Lillianne Parent, his siblings, Donna Fenton, Debbie Johnson, Larry McKeen and their spouses Bill Fenton, Bob Johnson and Diana Mckeen along with many treasured aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. After a journey with Alzheimer's, he took his last breath while being gently loved into his next transition at Maine Medical Center. Keith grew up In Searsport Maine and adored his family and friends. He worked for many years at MPBN and was known as the silky smooth voice of "Maine Things Considered" on MPR. For three decades he was either the host or correspondent for the Maine based lead-in to "All Things Considered". Years later, a new generation got to know Keith when he added a side job of being the play-by-play announcer for the basketball tournaments at the Bangor Auditorium. Keith loved having the opportunity to interview great minds and inform listeners. He worked hard, married the love of his life, raised a beautiful family and lived, laughed and loved well. His passions included family, basketball, reading, politics, music, reporting, hiking and most of all his grandchildren. Keith's family is so grateful they had the opportunity to share their journey with him. He was the essence of kind and gentle, with a sense of humor, wit and brightness they will always hold close to their hearts. The Celebration of Life for Keith A.McKeen will be at A.T. Hutchins ~660 Brighton Avenue in Portland on 1:00 Sunday April 10, 2016 Coffee and visiting after on premises Followed by Reception at home of Donna and Bill Fenton: 18 Clearwater Ave. Scarborough, ME In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer's research at alz.org
