Judith Ann Taylor, nee Grimstad, born in Chelsea, Massachusetts on April 15th, 1938, died peacefully on March 28, 2023, in Scarborough, Maine. She was two weeks shy of her 85th birthday. Judy was predeceased by her loving husband of 59 years, John W. Taylor. Judy was the beloved daughter of Hjalmar N. Grimstad, of Lindas, Norway, and Margaret Gwendolyn Downing, of Harbour Grace, Newfoundland. Prior to moving to Maine, Judy resided in Somerville, MA and Medford, MA for many decades. Judy graduated from Somerville High School in 1956 and worked as a hairdresser prior to marriage. From the 1960s through the early 1980s, Judy was a stay-at-home mom. Later Judy worked full-time as a teacher's aide in a pre-school, special education class in Somerville, MA., a position she thoroughly enjoyed for eighteen years. Undoubtedly Judy was an inspiration for all three of her daughters to enter educational and/or healthcare occupations. In her free time Judy enjoyed knitting, arts/crafts, baking, movies, nature, pets, gardening, and traveling. Most especially she enjoyed being a sweet, loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. Judy leaves her three daughters, Carolyn Taylor, of Stoneham, Ma., Janet Taylor, of Windham, ME., and Jennifer Taylor, of Gorham, Me. She also leaves her three beloved grandchildren Zachary, Gavin and Natalie Lynch, and their father Marty Lynch, of Windham, ME. Judy is survived by her loving sister, Norma M. Grimstad, of South Portland, ME. She also leaves her son-in-law, David Paczkowski, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Judy was predeceased by her dearest brother, John A. Grimstad. Services will be held at a later date, with time to be announced by the family.
