Joyce Anne Pierce, age 70, of Westbrook, passed away on January 14, 2022 at Mercy Hospital. She was born in Portland on December 17, 1951 to Richard and Helen (Skinner) Staples. She lived on Emerson St in Portland with her parents and brother, Thomas. Joyce graduated from Portland High School in 1969. She was married to Gregory Pierce until 1986. Joyce lived on Peary Terrace in South Portland with her son, Matthew, her two cats, and dog. Joyce enjoyed good food and musical in movie format. Her favorite musical was Fiddler on the Roof. Her oldest friends were Donna French and Deborah Knight. Joyce is best known for her ability to speak her mind. Joyce is survived by her son, Matthew Pierce, and her long-time friend Deborah Knight. Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Helen Staples; and her long-time friend, Donna French.
