Joan Anne (Goodine) Korbini June 9, 1943 October 28, 2016 Joan Anne Korbini, 73, died Oct. 28, 2016 after a long illness. Born on June 9, 1943 in Fredericton, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Arden and Mary Goodine of Portland. Joan moved to Maine in 1953, where she attended schools in both Rumford and Portland. Joan was known for her quick wit and sense of humor. Among her family she was the resident beautician, seamstress, and interior decorator but most of all enjoyed hosting family gatherings. She was known for her sense of style, and loved to shop. She enjoyed Bingo, eating lobster, fishing with family, and making homemade pickles for family and friends. She kept her good sense of humor throughout her illness, making everyone laugh who came to visit. She was predeceased by her husband Martin Korbini, son David Budzko, and brother Arden James Goodine. Joan is survived by: her daughter Heather Horlor and her husband Irvin of Westbrook; sons Martin Korbini Jr. and his wife Ashell of Bluemont, VA., Matthew Budzko and his wife Wendy of Sebastian, Fla., and Anthony Budzko of Westbrook; grandchildren Amber Pinette of Biddeford, Aimee Budzko of Fla., Anthony Budzko of Westbrook, Stephanie Lundy, Claudia and Arden Korbini of Bluemont, VA.; many great grandchildren; two brothers, Richard Goodine and his wife Irene, and Wayne Goodine and his partner Susan Kane, of South Portland; three sisters, Theresa Cressey and Valerie Mellin of Westbrook, and Brenda Hopkins of Old Orchard; and many nieces and nephews, whom she loved very much. A memorial service will be held at St. Anthony's Church in Westbrook on Thursday, Nov. 3 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to either the Preble Street Resource Center (Development Department, 38 Preble St., Portland, ME 04101) or the Westbrook Food Pantry (c/o Theresa Cressey, 36 Graham Rd., Westbrook, ME 04092).
