Obituary

Jean Dupee Lloyd-Rees, 95, died on March 30th at Falmouth House at Ocean View in Falmouth Maine. She was born on Sept 8th, 1930, in the town of Winchester Mass, the daughter of Elizabeth Carter and Charles E. Dupee.

She was educated at the Buckingham (now Buckingham Browne and Nichols) school in Cambridge MA and was a graduate of Wellesley College, Class of 1950.

In grateful recovery since 1977 as a proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous, she served for many years as a volunteer at Mercy Hospital and later at Crossroads for women in Windham.

She is survived by her daughter, Victoria L. Smith, and her husband Stephen K. Smith, of South Freeport; her son David C. Lloyd-Rees, and his wife, Susan Collins Lloyd-Rees, of Chebeague Island Maine; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her husband of 58 years, David L. Lloyd Rees (m.1955); her daughter, Katharine L. Kennie (wife of Reginald Kennie), of Portland; and her grandson, Trenton D. Lloyd-Rees, of South Portland.

The family expresses heartfelt thanks to the superb staff at Falmouth House at Ocean View in Falmouth, Maine, which she called home for the last 6 years of her life. The family also extends its gratitude to Compassus Hospice for their exceptional care.

There will be no funeral, and a private interment will be held.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Barabara Bush Wing at Maine Medical Center, Wellesley College, or to the Animal Refuge League.
