Jason St. Pierre, 54, died suddenly on May 15, 2024 at the home that he shares with his wife Karen in Portland, Maine. He was born on July 22, 1969 in Danvers, Massachusetts. He graduated from Portland High School in 1987. During his senior year in high school, he was chosen for the McDonald's All-American Marching Band. After his participation in that, he was chosen for the McDonald's All-American Jazz Band. After graduation he pursued his love of music at Parsons School of Jazz and Berklee College of Music before returning to Portland where he made music his livelihood. Jason was a gifted musician that was mentored from a young age by many talented musicians and educators. In return, Jason became a teacher and mentor impacting the lives of many local musicians of all ages. Jason was at his best when he was sharing his love of music. His personal band, a quintet fondly known as "The Jason St. Pierre Band" brought particular joy to his community, including a weekly "Jazz Night" every Thursday at Anthony's Italian Kitchen in Portland. It was here that he met his wife Karen, and they were married on the bluff at Willard Beach on September 24, 2022. Jason's students, band members and audiences filled him with happiness and pride. His family will forever be grateful for them and hopes they will continue to carry on his love for jazz and entertaining. Jason is survived by his parents, Karen and Ray St. Pierre. Daughter Emily St. Pierre. Wife Karen St. Pierre and her children, Niels, Amanda and Travis. Sister Jennifer Searway and her husband Daniel. Brother Michael Adell and his wife Sheila. Nieces and nephews Whitney and Trey Adell and William and Matthew Searway. Jason was predeceased by his grandparents, William and Emily Mulley and Phillip and Delia Kent of Ipswich, MA. Jason will be cremated privately, followed by visiting hours on Thursday, May 23 from 3pm-6pm at A.T. Hutchins Funeral Home, 660 Brighton Avenue in Portland.
