September 10, 1944 May 2,2015 Yarmouth Hyacinth (Heidi) Ellen Hannan Sproul passed away peacefully on May 2, 2015 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House after a long illness. She was surrounded by the love and comfort of her husband and family. Heidi was born on September 10, 1944 in Brockton, MA, the eldest child of Thomas and Hyacinth Bell Hannan. Heidi is survived by her husband of 41 years, Richard Sproul, and her siblings Thomas Hannan of Fort Myers, Fl., Patricia and her husband Doug Wall of Charlotte, NC and Susan Hannan of Yarmouth, ME. Heidi is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents and a sister, Mary Ellen Hannan and also her sister in law, Helen Hannan. Heidi graduated from Weymouth High School and received her Bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts in 1972. She held many jobs but her two longest ones were that of the Executive Assistant to the Administrator of Brunswick Regional Memorial Hospital and Executive Administrative Assistant to the CEO of UNUM. Heidi's favorite place to be was at the ocean, especially in Pemaquid where she spent many wonderful family vacations. Heidi also enjoyed simple things: family get togethers, the color blue, coffee milk shakes , reading, music- especially jazz, art, politics, movies, and concerts in the park. She was an avid fan of the Red Sox and Sea Dogs. She enjoyed traveling with Dick but was always drawn back to the serenity of her home in Yarmouth and the beauty of Maine. She loved quiet times, good conversations, and laughter. Most of all, she loved spending time with Dick. Her family and friends will miss her thoughtful, loving and generous spirit. A celebration of Heidi's life will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Yarmouth on Saturday May 9th at 10:00. In lieu of flowers, she requested that donations be made in her name to Hospice of Southern Maine, 180 US Route One, Scarborough, ME. 04074. A.T.
