Howard ""Bill"" W. M. Gleason July 23, 2012 Portland - Howard ""Bill"" W. M. Gleason of Buxton, Maine passed away on Monday July 23rd at Maine Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada. He attended schools in Worcester, Massachusetts and was a graduate of George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Bill first served in the United States Marine Corps, he then began his long business career as a Financial Trainee with General Electric. Subsequent positions included Controller and Material Manager at the Materials Division of Litton Industries; Vice President of Operations at Harvey Hubble's Kerite Division; Vice President of the International Materials Division of Albany International; Executive Vice President and CEO of Victor Balata Company and President, CEO and member of the Board of Directors for Bates Manufacturing. He was predeceased by his parents, Willard M. and Margaret C. (Houlahan) Gleason and by a son, Douglas M. Gleason. He leaves his beloved partner Jeannie Toppi; two daughters, Pamela Jean Gleason of Camden, Maine and Jennifer Anne Gleason of Los Angeles, California; a son, John Andrew Gleason of Phoenix, Arizona and five grandchildren. He leaves a sister, Elizabeth Ann Borgatti and a brother, Robert Graeme Gleason both of Worcester and one nephew and one niece. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 29th at 11AM at his residence on 21 Wescott Circle in Buxton, Maine. Assistance and guidance provided by A.T.
