Obituary

Henry Dean Fuller May 18, 1928 June 27, 2012 Falmouth - Henry Dean Fuller, a resident of OceanView at Falmouth, peacefully succumbed to myelodysplasia on June 27, 2012. Born in Hanover, NH, May 18, 1928, Henry was the only child of Harold Eugene and Martha Tuxbury Fuller. After high school he proudly served with the U.S.Navy on a destroyer in the Pacific. Following his discharge he attended the University of Vermont where he met his wife of 60 years, Sonia ""Sunny"" Follett. They married after graduation and settled in South Portland, ME, where they raised their three children and he worked as a construction project manager for 25 years. In 1969, he purchased the first chalet constructed at Sunday River Skiway (built entirely with hand tools before power lines were installed on the mountain). He and Sunny were long-time active members of the Sunday River Ski Club. Family and friends continue to enjoy the chalet, a lasting legacy. He thoroughly enjoyed retirement on Moose Pond in Denmark, ME, where he shared his love of fishing and boating with grandchildren and young neighbors to whom he was ""Mr. Hank."" Winters were spent in Sebring, FL, where he also pursued the local fish and was a committed volunteer at Florida Hospital Heartland. Hank & Sunny settled in OceanView this past winter and he was extraordinarily happy in that community of friends. He was a completely devoted family man. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Lincoln Fuller and wife Marti Mayne of Cousins Island, ME, daughter Rennie Donovan and husband Joe of Cape Elizabeth and Long Island, ME, and daughter Holly Sperring and husband David of Wilmington, NC. There are seven beloved grandchildren: Colby, Calli and Kim Han Fuller, Meghan and Becky Donovan, and Benjamin and Kim Sperring. Both grandsons are currently serving in the U.S. Air Force. The family is grateful for the compassionate care of the staffs at Mercy CCU and Gosnell Memorial Hospice House. A celebration of his life will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, July 20, 2012 at the Hilltop Lodge's community room at OceanView, 20 Blueberry Lane, Falmouth. Assistance and guidance provided by A.T. Hutchins, LLC Funeral and Cremation Services, 660 Brighton Ave in Portland.
