Helen F. MacDonald March 28, 2013 Helen F. Devaney MacDonald Westbrook- Helen F. Devaney MacDonald passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 28, 2013, one day after her 76th birthday. She was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, a daughter of Francis and Agnes (McGurk) Devaney. She was very proud of her Irish heritage. She married Richard (Dick) MacDonald from Berlin, NH in 1959 and they settled in Portland, Maine, raising four children including a set of twins. She retired from Mercy Hospital in 2002. Surviving are her four children: Brenda MacDonald of Yarmouth, Cindy MacDonald Olsen of Yarmouth, Richard MacDonald Jr., of Westbrook and Francis MacDonald of Standish; a sister, Agnes Havens of New Port Richey, FL; five grandchildren whom she loved so much, Candace Poirier, Courtney Babbidge Morrison, Spencer Olsen, Michaela Olsen, Joseph MacDonald and one great-grandson, Avery Rutherford. A private service will be held at a later date. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, a memorial donation be made in her honor to the Alzheimer's Association, Maine Chapter, 383 U.S. Route One, Suite 2C, Scarborough, ME 04074.
