Helen B. (Johnson) Carrick July 17, 1921 July 1, 2013 Portland - Helen B. (Johnson) Carrick, 91, of Portland and formerly of Springfield, MA, passed away at Maine Medical Center on July 1, 2013. She was born on July 17, 1921 in Springfield, the daughter of Arthur and Florence (Miller) Johnson. She grew up in Springfield, attending Springfield schools and later Bay Path College in Boston. Helen worked for many years as a legal secretary for various law offices. She enjoyed playing duplicate bridge and was an avid golfer. Helen was well known by her friends and family for her wit and sense of humor. Helen is predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her daughter Andrea Gagne and her husband Roger of Falmouth, Maine, her son Jay Carrick of Gulf Port, Florida, her grandson Nick Gagne of Falmouth, Maine and her sister Dorothy Spaulding and her family in Springfield, Massachusetts. The family would like to offer special thanks and love to Michelle Tufts, Helen's ""other daughter."" Services for Helen will be held at a later date in Springfield.
