Helen Edith Churchill July 28, 1925 May 30, 2013 PORTLAND -- Helen Edith Churchill, 87, of Portland, passed away at the Maine Medical Center on May 30, 2013. She was born in Brocton, Mass., on July 28, 1925, the daughter of Mary Martin and Howard L. Churchill. She was a graduate of Deering High School. After graduating with a masters degree from Mt. Holyoke College, she lived in Boston, Mass., and enjoyed teaching ESL (English as a Second language) for nearly 25 years. Helen was a member of the Bay Club fitness center well into her 70s, holding the status as the most senior member. Helen was predeceased by her parents; her brothers, James 'Spencer' Churchill and Howard W. Churchill; her aunt, Marie 'Amanda' Janotte; and her long time companion, William O'Farrell. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Churchill; nephew, William Churchill; great-nephews, Lucas Churchill and Samuel Churchill; great- grandniece, Nadia Churchill, and great-grandnephew, Sebastian Churchill.
