Gwendolyn A. Stackhouse January 31, 1928 January 29, 2013 Portland- Gwendolyn A. Stackhouse, 84, of Frederic Street, passed away on January 29, 2013 at the Barron Center. She was born in Portland, a daughter of Henry S.C. and Katherine E. (Linscott) Neil. Gwen was a graduate of Portland High School, Class of 1947 and worked at the candy counter at Woolworth in Portland where she met Henry G. Stackhouse. She and Henry married in 1952 and began raising a family. Gwen enjoyed reading, knitting, puzzles, big band music and watching old movies. She was a member of South Coast Community Church in Scarborough. She was pre-deceased by her husband in 1992. She is survived by her children, Mary Huff and her husband Clayton of Windham, Ann Richardson of Portland and Henry Stackhouse, II, of Portland; sister, Lois Carson of Portland. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Brooklawn Memorial Park, 2002 Congress St., Portland. Arrangements are by A.T.
