George James Zografos April 13, 1938 November 18, 2014 Scarborough - George James Zografos, 76, of Westbrook passed away at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House on November 18, 2014. He was born on April 13, 1938 in Mars Hill, a son of James and Ella (Farley) Zografos. He grew up in Portland, graduating from Portland High School. George worked for 39 years for Rowe Ford, ending as a Manager in the Reconditioning department. George loved the outdoors, especially camping, going out on his boat and snowmobiling. He also loved antique cars and traveling to classic car shows. George had the gift of gab and would often say he was going to visit someone for ten minutes and end up staying to talk for hours. George was predeceased by his parents, his two sons, James George and Stephen Charles Zografos as well as his brother Edwin Peter James. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sandra (Ouellette) Zografos, his sisters; Llewella (Barnes) and her husband Cliff, and Marietta (Jaques) and her husband Phil as well as many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. The family would like to thank the staffs at Maine Medical Center, Pride's Corner Rescue and the Gosnell House for their exceptional and compassionate care for George during his illness. Sandra would also like to give a special thanks to her nephew David Zografos and his mother Carol Conley for being her ""rock"" in helping George and her since the passing of their son Stephen in September. Burial for George is private at Forest City Cemetery.
