George Edward Hannon Jr. February 25, 1932 October 30, 2015 Portland George Edward Hannon Jr, 83, of Scarborough, died on October 30, 2015 at the Barron Center, after a long illness. He was born on February 25, 1932 in Limington, the son of George Edward and Irene Beatrice (England) Hannon Sr. He proudly served in the United States Navy in the fighting SeaBees during the Korean conflict. George Married Janice Edna Wight of Gorham, on March 17 1958. George was an avid sportsman and former Maine Guide for LL Bean. He was truly a man for all seasons: Fishing, Hunting, Snowmobiling, and ice fishing. George was an independent contractor and land developer who has developments scattered throughout southern Maine, with streets named after him and his immediate family. He was active in community affairs and was a prominent fixture at Casco Days which he looked forward to with gusto and enjoyed annually, he was also a member of the Blue Point Congregational Church in Scarborough. George is pre deceased by his wife, his parents, and 2 brothers Earnest and Donald Hannon. He is survived by his sisters Mary Rogers and Teresa Hale; His daughters Terry Kerwin of Columbia, TN and Debbie St. Pierre of Old Orchard Beach; a son Edward Hannon of Poland; and his devoted friend Evelyn DiPietro and her family of Scarborough; 7 Grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM on Wednesday November 4, 2015 at A.T. Hutchins Funeral and Cremation Services 660 Brighton Ave. Portland with Reverend Marcia Charles of Blue Point Congregational Church officiating.
