Obituary

Somerville-Frank J. Maniscalco Jr., age 64, passed away suddenly on February 9, 2022. He was born in Boston and raised in Somerville and was the son of Frank J. and Kathleen (Thornhill) Maniscalco, Sr. He also resided in Rockport, Wakefield and Saugus but he always considered Boston his home. Frank served in the U.S. Navy from 1976-1978 serving on Pearl Harbor and Midway Island with an E-3 rank. He was an accomplished guitar player with an extensive collection of guitars and was a self-professed song writer. Frank loved to travel and traveled all over the United States, rode his mountain bike with his longest, and best ride of 3,000 miles in Alaska, and also traveled with Rock bands as lighting and production. He was an animal lover, and worked as a veterinary technician in California. He held many jobs throughout his lifetime (every position imagined) and lived a full life. His fondest memories were of going out to eat with his Father and continuing with his Sons. He loved and was very proud of his three Sons. He especially liked to engage in the art of inquiry. He had a way with words and was a captivating presence and a progressive thinker outside the box. Frank was a creative soul, friendly and would help anyone in need. Frank is survived by his 3 sons Christopher Maniscalco and Katelynne Bowden of North Andover, Stefan Maniscalco of Nashua, NH and Tyler Maniscalco of Lynn, he is also survived by his grandchildren Ella and Christian, and Nicole Lucciano, mother to Ella, and his former wife and mother of his children Cathleen Maniscalco. Frank's favorite quote was "The path less traveled may have made the difference" by Robert Frost. He will be missed by many and will always be remembered. The family will have a graveside service and burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, 175 Broadway, Malden, MA at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 and all are welcomed to attend.
