Obituary

Frank G. Bean, Jr. December 13, 1925 March 11, 2016 Frank Gibson Bean Jr died March 11, 2016 at Gosnell house in Scarborough with his family by his side after a long illness. Frank was born in Portland Maine on December 13, 1925 the son of Phyllis and Frank G Bean Sr. Frank graduated from Portland High School in 1943 where he was an athlete who excelled in baseball and basketball. After graduation he joined the U.S. Navy where he served in the South Pacific. When the war ended, he came home to Portland where he met the love of his life Frances Gallant. They married in 1950 and settled in Falmouth where they raised five children. Frank also attended Northeast Business academy where he earned a degree in accounting. Frank continued to play baseball and basketball with various leagues. He was a member of the Martin Marriner Club where he was the last surviving member of his flight crew. Frank retired from Southworth Machine Company. He was a member of Rotary international. He still met with members of the Pharlanx fraternity one Friday a month. Frank was predeceased by his parents and wife Frances. He is survived by his son Frank G III and his wife Joanne, his four daughters Nancy Anne Begin of Bradford Mass, Susan Bean Mathews and her husband Donal of Falmouth, Laurie Lenzi her husband Marc Lenzi of Barrington, NH, and Dianne Armishaw and her husband William Armishaw of Scarborough, Maine. Frank had 10 grandchildren. Kelsey Robitaille, Zachary Bean, Thomas Begin, Nichlas Begin and his wife Jenn, Michael Begin, Jennifer Lenzi, Daniel Lenzi, William Armishaw, Victoria Armishaw, Samantha Armishaw and a great granddaughter Ava Grace Robitaille. They were the light of his life and always made him smile. He was very proud of each and every one. The family thanks the staff of P3CD of Maine Medical Center and Gosnell Memorial Hospice House for the caring and compassion he received at both places. They also thank Dr Michael Akom and Maine Nephrology for their care that kept him alive many years beyond the expectation. There will be a mass of Christian Burial celebrated on Saturday March 19th at 10:00 am at Holy Martyrs Catholic Church 266 Foreside Rd, Falmouth Maine.
