Frances Joanne (Malia)Thompson, passed away on August 13, 2024 at Mercy Hospital after a short illness... She was born on March 21, 1939 in Portland Maine, a daughter of William H. Sr, and Anna Kelley Malia. he attended Portland schools, and was a graduate of Portland High School. She was married to Rodney Thompson, the love of her life. He predeceased her on March 29, 2020. She was also predeceased by her parents, William H. (Sr) and Anna Kelley Malia, two brothers, John Francis and William H(Jr) Malia, two sisters, Phyllis Anne Brown, and Arlene Patricia Pesce. Frances was a loving homemaker, and mother of two... She was an open, friendly, woman with many friends who loved her. Frances loved her life at 100 State Street, and really enjoyed the bingo games, daily chats with her neighbors and numerous planned activities. She is survived by her two children, Dorothy Thompson, and Rodney Thompson Jr., both of Portland...She is also survived by three sisters, Margaret D Malia of Kennebunk, Patricia (Malia) Russo of Falmouth, and Ann Marie (Malia) Card of Brooksville, FL, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins...She is also survived by her husband's family (The Thompson's) ...of whom she was very close to all of her life... A Memorial Service will be held 10 AM Thursday September 12, 2024 at A.T. Hutchins Funeral Home, 660 Brighton Avenue. Burial will follow in Brooklawn Memorial Park.
