PORTLAND -- Fezarde "Ardy" Legaspi, 53, a man whose love, laughter, and vibrant spirit made life brighter for so many, died unexpectedly on April 30, 2026, leaving an immense loss to all who knew him. He was born in Cavite City, Philippines, on November 5th, 1972, the proud son of Felixberto "Bay" Legaspi and Teresita "Tess" (Lim) Legaspi. After immigrating to the U.S. in 1982, Ardy finished up his education with Portland Public Schools. He married his soul mate and love of his life, Janet (Valencia), in the Philippines; starting their lives together in the states in 1996.
He worked for the City of Portland for about 15 years, then transitioning to his most current position with Evergreen Cemetery where he left a mark with his dedication and hard work. Ardy was the happiest when surrounded by others, he had this gift of bringing people together, whether it was around the grill or the table he so lovingly filled. His big smile could light up any room and his laugh was impossible not to share. He made people feel special in the simplest, most genuine ways. He never missed a chance to say how blessed he felt, and above all, he treasured his family, who meant everything to him.
Ardy is predeceased by his parents; Felixberto "Bay" and Teresita "Tess" Legaspi, grandparents and many special aunts and uncles; He is survived by his soulmate, Janet Legaspi and his beloved children, Gabriela Legaspi (Justin) and Angelo Legaspi (Shae); his siblings, Rolando Legaspi (Oya) of Portland, Felix Legaspi Jr. of Portland, Terry Legaspi of Portland, Lucy Legaspi of Portland; Nieces and nephews, Rachelle (Thach), Raymart (Shaya), Bekah (Mikey), Nicko (Kyah). He spoiled rotten his "fur babies"- Dabiyana, Buchoy, Puppy, Love and Bruno.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 8th, 2026 from 4pm-7pm at A. T. Hutchins Funeral Home, 660 Brighton Avenue, Portland, ME. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday May 9th at 11am, at the funeral home.
